i used to walk the crowded halls
and look at faces all around
and i would always tell myself
i had all of them all figured out.
just a bunch of shallow kids
who didn't care about their souls
and lived their lives so pointlessly
in high school halls and green fishbowls.
maybe sometimes that was true
and my shallow judgment hit the mark
but looking back i can't believe
that every single heart was dark
and blinded to the light of truth
just beating for the next big thing
especially when my own eyes
were filthy filled with hypocrisy
and this is my lifetime late apology.
